Job Summary

The nurse provides direct patient care in an outpatient clinical setting under the supervision of a physician and/or Registered Nurse and supports efficient clinic operations by assisting with patient assessments, procedures, treatments, and education while promoting a positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform clinical nursing tasks including obtaining and documenting vital signs, patient histories, and chief complaints
• Prepare patients for provider examinations and assist with in-office procedures and treatments
• Administer medications and injections as ordered by a provider
• Monitor patient condition during visits and promptly report changes or concerns to the provider or RN supervisor
• Provide patient education related to medications, treatment plans, and follow-up care within scope
• Accurately document all patient care, treatments, and communications in the medical record
• Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and equipment in compliance with infection control and safety standards
• Assist with care coordination, referrals, prior authorizations, and patient follow-up when needed
• Follow clinic policies, HIPAA regulations, and professional standards at all times

Qualifications & Requirements

• Current, active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license or RN license in the State of Alabama
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain upon hire
• Minimum of one (1) year of clinical or outpatient experience preferred (may vary by clinic)

Work Environment

This is a part time position based in an outpatient clinic setting requiring 12-25 hrs/ week. Duties may involve standing, walking, and assisting patients during exams and procedures.
